“Present Over Perfect: Leaving Behind Frantic for a Simpler, More Soulful Way of Living“.
Doesn’t that sound amazing? That is exactly what I want to do this coming year. I have selected Present as my word for 2017 (read more about that in this post). I want to simplify, streamline my responsibilities so that I can be more present for the people in my life.
Last year I tried to slow down, simplify, and focus on finding my purpose. Now I am ready to get more organized and learn how to be truly present – physically, mentally, and emotionally – so that I can connect with my husband, children, family, and friends on a much deeper, more meaningful level.
My motivation for slowing down last year was also from a book. In the spring I read “Breaking Busy: How to Find Peace and Purpose in a World of Crazy”. I loved this book and highly recommend it (the kindle version is only $1.99!). It inspired me and helped me pull through an emotionally difficult time. I plan to re-read it in 2017, because I am sure I can pull a few more gold nuggets from it!
Here are a few more books that I have or have been recommended to me, and I plan to read this year:
Say Goodbye To Survival Mode – Crystal Paine is a blogger I have followed for years. I love her life story. I have read several of her books, and I am exciting to learn from this one.
Tell Your Time I read this a few years ago, it really helps with organizing your life and setting priorities. Time to read it again!
Hands Free Mama This was recommended by a friend last year.
I have several friends that rent audio books from the library to listen to. Such a great idea! I currently read most of my books on my phone on the kindle app, but I am excited to try listening to more books.
What have you read this year? I would love to hear your recommendations!
